This parcel layer contains discrete, non-overlapping polygons for each property. Adjacent polygons with common ownership and a single tax record have been retained in the "OthLeg" layer that accompanies this TaxPar layer, and dissolved into single parcels in this TaxPar layer. Some non-adjacent parcels may be represented by multi-part polygons where they share common ownership and a single tax record. Public right of ways exist as polygons, not null space. Linework associated with private ROWs are retained in the "OthLeg" layer. Water polygons also representing parcel boundaries have been retained in this TaxPar layer. Additional water features that are not considered parcel boundaries may have been placed in the "Misc" layer that accompanies this TaxPar layer. Easements and other similar non-fee taxable boundaries exist in the 'OthLeg" layer, not the TaxPar layer.

Data compiled or reviewed for horizontal accuracy over the MassGIS color orthos from 2008/2009; these orthos are known to be +/- 10' horizontal; however, this data set cannot be used to reach authoritative conclusions about the horizontal accuracy of the boundaries depicted. That work requires a licensed land surveyor.
Existing GIS parcel data was converted to MassGIS Level 3 template geodatabase and additional data layers and tables were added.
Multipart polygons were created where necessary; internal polygon boundaries were dissolved where necessary; polygons representing legal boundaries such as easements or private right-of-ways were created. LOC_ID was generated or updated.
Spatial accuracy of data was verified using the parcel standard guidelines; town boundary was verified to be coincident with MassGIS town Boundary layer. Polygon topology was updated and validated.
Some missing parcel numbers were coded, which had not been captured between 2008 and 2011.
Overlay errors between TaxPar and OthLeg were corrected. Multilink errors between TaxPar and Assess were verified or corrected. Lotsize discrepancies between shape area in TaxPar and LOTSIZE in Assess were verified or corrected.
Updates were made to the Level II data to reflect the most current version of the town's tax maps as of May 2011 for the town's FY 2012. CAMA data was matched against parcel data to produce a mismatch report which was reconciled with the help of the town. Final QA/QC tool was run.

Lot dimension annoation was shifted to better match level 3 parcel work. Town's digital zoning and overly district data was spatially edited to better match level 3 parcel work where appropriate.
